He said nobody would go with us at that time, which might have been correct, but 25 to 35 countries sent troops this time (after the UN ultimatum).

Good point, although the UN troops which helped us were small in numbers----and according to Treasure Secretary Paul O'neil, they were countries promised oil fields----not exactly great soulful motivaters---and a cause which does not translate to working class blood when questions are asked by the citizenry. Here is a good 60 minutes piece by former Alcoa CEO and Treasure Sec O'neil. I really don't hold the Republican party (as a whole)responsible for the war, as some of my best friends are of the right persuasion. I see a grave distinction between neocons and good ol fashion Republicanism.
2 Johnson (young) men dead and counting. I'm getting angrier by the day. They thought they were fighting Osama Bin Laden, "Sadam's friend." They must've got their news from Fox.

My point was that we had support of many, many countries. Whether they fought or not, they all made the list of potential terrorist targets for supporting us. To say we were alone in this is not accurate.
What happened to the FOX reference? They can't win. The liberals call it an ultra conservative network, and the conservatives say they cater too much to the left.
I like them because I can actually hear two sides of a story. Look at the line-up (before this election "stuff").
4:00 Cavuto - liberal 5:00 Gibson - conservative 6:00 Hume - conservative (but his panel generally consists of a liberal, moderate and conservative) 7:00 Smith - liberal 8:00 O'Riley - who knows? He could be anywhere on anything - independent 9:00 Hannity - conservative - Colmes - liberal 10:00 Greta - liberal
The beauty is, you know what you're getting. They don't pretend that they hold no positions on each topic. Plus, on most issues, you get a person from each side to give alternative views. My wife hates it because she says all they do on FOX is argue, but that's why I like it. (I know every republican and democratic spinner and strategist out there, especially after being home for the last several weeks. AT one point, I had to boycott the news for my own sanity.)
On a completely other off-topic discussion, today in Maine it became illegal to sell lighters that look like toys. It must have been emergency legislation. Apparently a fire chief's son played with what he thought was a flashlight and got burned. I guess it's not up to mature adults to take care of dangerous items such as lighters so we've outlawed their sale.

Where are you getting the notion that Shep Smith is liberal? Cavuto? I will agree that Greta, rather than being liberal or conservative out and out, just seems to have had LIBERAL amounts of plastic surgery.
Allen Combs does a great job of being ugly, a weak debater, and the Ed McMahon to Seans' pretentious sanctimony. "hooooooe, Sean, you are baaaad" Regarding Hume's "panel" of Fred Barnes and Mort Kondrakey(sp?)----Have you actually read Mort's column's? He is a mid-road political pundit if there ever was one. The only real leftists I see on FNC are the stuttering cooks they drag into the Factor so Bill will scare them to death. Watch tonight, he'll have a small town college girl on there to debate global trade----and Bill will man handle her. Bill is about as "independent" as Roger Ailes' hair piece. The same Roger Ailes (Fox News Chief) who was a media political strategist for Nixon (my fav), Ford, and Reagen. Fair and balanced my hairy butt. FNC is as fair and balanced as MSNBC is left. I am glad conservatives have a place to call home, but call a spade a spade. If I hear even the goofy weatherman call Barack Obama as "Barack HUSSEIN Obama" one more time, I'll puke and call it macaroni.
It's funny how in one era you are considered a midrow democrat, and the next era and one goofy president later you are considered a "leftist America hater."
A car with 5 American flags pulls next to a car with 1 American flag to which the 5 flag driver yells "go back to Afghanistan!"

Shep hides it well as he's supposed to just report, but he's not a conservative. Cavuto, no question. Off his show he plays the liberal as a guest on others at times (as Hume does on Wallace's show). Mort, yep, he's the one who wears a belt and suspenders. Nice guy, but you never know where he'll be on an issue. Fred Barnes is the conservative up against Mort on the Beltway Boys. (Fred and I are both evangelicals, so our worldviews are pretty much the same.) Maura is the NPR liberal who's often on; although, they have others. (I like Maura because I think she's honest. I can predict the spin, but she's a pretty straight shooter.) Charles Krauthammer is always fun to watch, but yes, the good doctor is a conservative who points out Mort's flawed thinking.
Let's not forget Mr. Rivera too. And then there's Bob Beckel (sp?), who's a guest on almost every show throughout the day.
I like O'Reilly, but not because we share the same political views. He's like Mort: he could be anywhere on an issue.
I'd never vote for a liberal because they don't represent my views and beliefs. (I would a democrat if he or she did.) But, like you, some of my favorite people in the world are on the wrong side of the aisle.
If Mary Matalin and James Carville can live in peace, then we all can. (Really, I don't get that one.)
We conservatives don't call FOX home. It's just our best choice on TV. We hit the web and the radio for the most part now.
As far as the labels go, the democratic party has been hijacked, which is why you hear those things. The democratic party of today is the same one it was when I was in high school.
